IIRC my pvr is outputting to component (via SCART).Doesn't one need RGB output signals to accomplish this? I don't think TV signals are compatible with VGA
I wonder if the xbox360 one would work.I think you get a component to VGA converter... trouble is finding one locally.
Duh - just realised it has the proprietary connector on one end.Don't see why not.... is it a straight forward component to VGA converter?
Thanks - I'll have a look for one and see what they cost.bwana, there are component devices which convert RCA output (or scart) to VGA. I have one of those with a TV tuner built in. You can use the tuner or have another media player (e.g. DVD player) hooked up to it and eventually to a standard LCD monitor with only VGA inputs (analogue). It's called an LCD TV Tuner Box (do a search) and they are available at some computer stores.

Alternatively I might order one of these Amazon.co.uk: Hama SCART To VGA cable: Electronics & Photo
Which one? The cable or the tuner box?I actually got one of those Tv things with my Mecer LCD... went for R350
