With the recent DSTV price increase I also started to consider the actual value of DSTV.

Lots of people are seeking alternatives, but before they do... approaches DSTV to re-consider some other packages. Thing is, the other bouquets suck! There are various Indian packages, Dstv Portuguesa and the Compact/Select, nothing includes the few channels I want to watch, they only cater for soccer.

The big question I ask, why no other option for SS1? More recently, the option of 'Premium minus MNET'.

Multichoice always have some political correct answer, but yesterday I saw a tweet that struck me...

DSTV Mobile offers a range of channels incl. SS1-SS4. This is available for R49, resolution quite small though. Why can DSTV not offer that same package via my normal decoder? I mean, the channels are clustered together already, not?

Can anyone find out why the DSTV Mobile package cannot become a bouquet option?

Because they will lose lots of premium subscriptions if they did that.. plain and simple.

Its all about money.

Sucks that we're not even given the option or choice.

At least the phone guys got some competition going which is good for the consumer. Guess we'll have to wait.

The irony is that the second channel offered with analogue M-net offers more sports variety than Dstv's Compact bouquet, which is cheaper than M-net. I'd swop to Compact in a flash if it offered SS1, 2 and 5.

+1 on that
