DStv piracy battle

MultiChoice has identified Piracy as one of the most significant risks to the company and has launched a successful anti-piracy campaign.

DSTV will never stop piracy.

The End

Thank you for coming and grab a T-Shirt on the way out.
People are OK with paying for pirated streaming TV; the horse has bolted.

The pirates can now afford multiple decoders, hosted at multiple locations across Africa, to capture the broadcasts before pumping to via CDNs to their customers.

Waka TV has launched live, online customer support recently. They're going to add tunnelling to the apps as well I hear.

All because DStv is stubbornly greedy.

People prefer not to pirate though, that's been proven, but if the market can't sort out its issues then they will. And it's not even really piracy usually thanks to what the market has become.

Given what is available why would people pirate DSTv,... I mean the pirate would because its free money, but who the hell are they selling to?
