Bad news for people who pay for DStv's top package in South Africa

DStv Premium subscribers in South Africa have been dealt a fresh blow, with no new added value for these customers and the platform losing popular HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery content.

While the pay-TV provider's lower packages have received boosts since Canal+ took control in September 2025, Premium subscribers still pay at least R699 a month with nothing new to show for it.

Can you guys please test the resolution of the app on mobile devices.

Somebody with a newer table than mine says they're getting HD, I'm still stuck on 575p. Widevines are the same (L1).

My older tablet (Samsung Tab A7) is actually Netflix approved whilst his (Redmi Pad 2 Pro) is not officially listed.

Post in thread 'DStv stream quality seems stuck at 576p.' https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/thr...ity-seems-stuck-at-576p.1317924/post-34454978

No suggestions what Premium needs?

For starters - fresh movies and more popular series again, much less woke, proper Discovery / NatGeo channels again (make them yourself MC) , at least a 3rd stream option, snooker, discount if we trash M-Net from the package, etc., etc.

Canal Ploos has lots of international entertainment partners, they can do puh-lenty more
