Anyone having dstv problems in Cape Town southern suburbs?

Mine looks like it lost its signal at about 11am today and now just scans but cant find any channels... There was a bit of a storm around that time so i thought it was that, but its basically cleared up now and still not working

Do you know how to reset it to factory default settings? I can't remember exactly how to, but try this:

Press menu, go to advanced options > dish installation>password is 9949, go to the bottom, which says restore factory defaults, select that and continue

I reset the decoder a while ago, so it looks like its just showing some kind of startup menu while it does the initial scan - not the usual menu you're talking about. BUT one of the options on this menu is to reset to factory defaults, so i tried that but no joy

Does anyone have it working in CPT kenilworth/claremont area?

This may sound silly, but unplug it for about 4 minutes and plug it back in

Wer'e not having any issues at the mo. We have a normal aerial, but the signal varies a lot when the weather is bad. Maybe something wrong at your end.
