I cancelled my DSTV Premium some time ago, but I still have an active account with them, and my dish and decoder still works, although I have no services at the moment.
I just resent having to pay more than R700 per month for one or two sports events, they don't have anything else worth watching.
BTW I watched FIFA WC2014 on SABC, so that was OK. That was old-fashioned analog.
But sometimes I want to watch other stuff, like the Sharks game yesterday. I can stream it, but more often than not the quality is not great.
Supposedly you can switch the service on and off again after events, and just pay pro-rata, but I cannot find anything about this on the DSTV website.
My Self-Service option on DSTV has never worked, in spite of numerous phone calls and e-mails. IMO this service is just plain defective and cannot possibly work. Has anyone ever managed to get this to work ?
BTW, I am registered on the DSTV forum, but am blocked from creating threads or posting. Not sure why, but this means that I cannot raise this issue on their website.
So, the only way that I can have any admin done on my service is to phone them, which is a PITA.
Any ideas on the Self Service ?
