As per myBB article:
https://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/258313-dstv-working-on-streaming-only-package-to-take-on-netflix.html
"..This comes after MultiChoice CEO Mark Rayner said at the start of 2017 that DStv will definitely have a streaming service in the future – the only question was when. " ...... "Regarding launch timeframes, Mawela said their standalone streaming package is still a work in progress." -02 May 2018
And:
https://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/266741-what-multichoice-is-doing-about-declining-dstv-premium-subscriber-numbers.html
"..To respond to the changing market, MultiChoice said it is developing a standalone DStv streaming service. " -03 July 2018
I pose the question to the Collective Intelligence of myBB:
Is there any more info out there, as to when / if the stand-alone product will be available? Are they continuing development, or silently dev/null'ed the project, in favor of DSTVNow as we presently have it, linked to a Premium subscription.
Or is my definition of stand-alone so horribly horrendously bad, that they were referring to what we now have as DSTVNow, an add-on to the Premium Subscription? Punt, kant-en-klaar.
PS: Let's not go into the money-making debate of Premium vs Netflix-related pricing. :-D
