Still have a previous, previous gen ATV. And use the DSTV Stream app. The latter drives me mental.
Always slow, takes forever to show me what channel options are available. Don't get me started on how laggy it is to scroll.
Also seems to default to some sort of standard/free-tier of the DSTV account, when jumping into the app after a while — by it only presenting me with a limited number of sports channels — until it has seemingly "phoned home" in the background, to verify my account, and present the Premium suite of channels. This involves me jumping between the different categories at the top, to force a reload.
My ATV is obviously getting long in the tooth.
However, Netflix, Disney, Prime, Apple TV+, Plex etc etc. all work 100% — as in, exponentially smoother than the DSTV app.
So, trying to ascertain if upgrading my ATV is going to make any difference?
Anyone see something similar, and are possibly running DSTV Stream on older and the newest ATV — any difference between the 2?
