DStv streaming vs satellite price comparison

The only ones they could make 4k is their own content, as what most streaming services does.
Cause it's not like Netflix or even Prime have everything as 4k

At this stage they don't even appear to offer 1080p much, if at all (based on what others have been posting).

Thing is, if there's a demand for it...
Certainly quite a number of forum peeps find 4k content, and have mentioned the massive bandwidth they have that goes with it.

Odd that the DSTV stream app says 1080p?? So unless they're still working on old info? Like we've seen a lot or they are only looking at TV?

Keep an eye on similar threads to this one - a number of guys who've said it's labelled as 1080p but clearly isn't.

In my own experience, I find what they call 720p, my usual setting, very poor compared to what I'm used to for that setting.

I've been watching things on my 65" OLED and it looks good, my only issue is sound. I also don't see it looking anything like 720p Youtube. Sure it's not the 4k streaming (which is still just just 4k).
We need more physical media back for people to see real 4k :-)

Really strange that DStv is putting so much effort into trying to make streaming choices work and "attractive", yet still can't get the basics right re buffering / maintaining video quality / market level quality (4K)

Must be a management issue, ne?

How it looks sometimes, although F1 was fine for me yesterday.

You probably have a good upscale chip in that TV of yours.

I signed up for Dstv Stream at R699 for 12 months premium package. What a schlep. They take my money check the tv to see if its working, nope they are showing my Compact plus channels. Try fixing via app no go. Talking to a bot just made it Dstv store in town tried no go.
Will try to speak with a human tomorrow.
Any advice or who can i talk too

Somebody at the bank to get the transaction reversed would be a good start!

Get yourself settled in a comforable chair with enough snacks and drinks, make sure you have a powerbank ready to keep your phone charged and make sure you have LOTS of airtime.
