DSTV subscriptions numbers falling - 288k in 2016

Well, just look at the amount of people that entered the DSTV competition here. Aint nobody got time for that.
 
Lets hope they drop even further.

Been dstv free for 3 months now and don't miss it at all and have saved over R2000.
 
The part they don't talk about is people downgrading their packages to the EasyAccess one, which is R 29 a month.

I mainly keep it for my parents, for everything else there is the www.
 
They could partner with MWEB and do a nice Triple play package.
 
18 Months DSTV free but signed up for Compact for the Euro2016 football in HD.

Other than that, couldn't be happier with the saving. I suspect this downward trend will continue - not just in SA but in other countries as well.

I did this two months ago, but now that I have discovered that my smart tv can pick up all the UK BBC and ITV channels, I am reconsidering that expense also.
 
This should be expected even without the internet this would happen. DSTV is a luxury, food is more important than TV.
