Just a heads up for my first post As a compact DSTV sub I was till now charged R399 as per the DSTV pricing . This month on debit order I was suddenly charged R494. After an excruciating exercise to actually speak to someone I was told I pay for PVR facilities (Fast forward Rewind as explained by call center staff ) Bottom line I never requested this on the compact service. Sounds very unethical to me . Anyone else have this happen to them. I do remember reading a news flash outlining giving 30 days free access to this for all users ,but to then charge for this is not a good strategy to encourage growth on the platform.

Do you use the PVR functionality or use Xtraview
or requested any of these?

They may be doing an American based type of marketing. They give you free month to use to trial, but it is up to you to stop after the thirty days, otherwise they take it as you want it. If you opted in for a free month then you probably have to contact them to tell them you don't want it.

Never requested in any way so awaiting for them to resolve. Just very unethical to charge for something I did not opt in or request. This mammoth think they can get away with this behavior ,its more the principle than the extra R100 debited.

Abbreviated to DSTV.

Charging R100 for PVR facilities on a device you bought is criminal enough. Imagine a car dealer charging you extra to use the headlights?
It's the MonoChoice way.
They have to pay for the building that burnt down, so this kind of thievery will be more common in coming months
