Anyone recall DSTV advertising a "promotion" in May where DSTV subscribers can get access to free online courses at UDEMY until 31 July 2020.

Well, by the looks of it, all these "free" courses are normally available for free from UDEMY in any case (disclaimer: I only did a few spot checks). DSTV has not so much "secured a deal" with UDEMY to the benefit of their subscribers, but rather agreed to advertise UDEMY on the DSTV platform (probably to the benefit of DSTV). The promotional article makes it sound like you are getting something of value for free, but they were very careful to state you get "access to free courses" not "free access to paid course". You can browse the "DSTV Collection" here for yourself on UDEMY. Worse still, with these free courses you are denied a certificate of completion or contact options with the instructor - and I wouldn't be surprised if the free courses only exist to bait you into the paid content.

Perdedrolle as vye!

Oh and I also didn't get my $5 udemy voucher via email as promised.

Oh and if you are just here to say you ditched DSTV long ago, stripped your decoder for parts or how much better streaming is than DSTV, just like this post. Lets try and keep the post about the false advertising

Vodacom had something similar on their shake it promos. "Win" free online courses where it's free in anycase.

BTW, did anyone actually receive the $5 udemy voucher email from dstv? Perhaps mine just went to spam and got auto-deleted?
