I have had a HD PVR for about 3 months and recently found there be a huge volume difference between some of the channels. I always have my PVR volume on max and play the sound through a home theatre system.
It's really annoying! You have to adjust the volume each time you change channel.
Anyone else noticed this or do I have a faulty PVR?

I have noticed this with my standard decoder. It really ***** me off. Watching the rugby at a certain level, then changing the channel to something else causes the speakers to rattle my house to pieces.

its not you or your decoder, I have this with both my HD and dsd1110 its Freaking anoying.

Same here - I have a setting on my Sammie TV for auto-volume, which helps reduce the blasts from ads, but it's damn annoying!

Some decoder models have an option in the menus for user-preferred volumes for specific channels. This is perfect for channels that broadcast too loud.

Go to menu then the TV setup area type in pin code 994 and there's a volume menu. You can set individual channel's volume there.

Even that 9949 volume channel doesn't assist most times. When I change to SS2, the volume bar is over 70%, but on SS1 it was like 30%. I can't stand the repetetive sudden noise.. 'The IPL makes a noise.'

You'll also find moving to channels that are using Dolby change, even if you aren't using channel specific volumes....

But then it would be asking too much for MC to get anything right, they can't do the basics like series numbering properly.

The Dish magazine is a joke too. Full of errors, movies left out of the A-Z section. Terrible.
