Can streaming packages compete with SuperSport?

Not here as monochoice still holds all the licenses.

But the likes of amazon and espn/disney do offer streaming options for some sports.

This article feel like a knee jerk reaction to the article that went up on /r/SouthAfrica last week, below is the correct analysis. I cant believe this article prices in internet costs, that's like a slap in the face to the DSTV client base insinuating that they don't have a need for internet connection

But as I stated I don't. My internet costs are R200/month. For streaming I would need broadband at R600 more plus the cost of the streaming services so in essence it would cost more than the R614 of Dstv and not even give me all the content.

And I'm sure that your solution works for you but there is proven benefits to broadband other than just streaming and complaining to people that have embraced it is like complaining about all the motorized vehicles on the road while you still have a perfectly good horse even though you have to shovel its poo everyday

Never said there aren't benefits. The fact remains that there is no one solution fits all. And even if you could have it your way as I said you would have to include the difference in the price plus the total cost of all the streaming services. So your analogy is more like I can get by with just a Polo on all roads but because you do racing you need a Ferrari and then have to pay for each road you use.
