I am at someone's house and been trying to get DSTV support to fix an issue but after hour just give up.

Not sure if someone can help me.

The house has two identical decoders with xtraview both decoders (primary and secondary) in one room with the main tv. Thenthere is an Eye upstairs that allows the 2nd remote to work upstairs. Everything was setup to work correctly and did so until the 2nd decoder stopped working and displayed an error message which meant software corruption. Multichoice support said I need to take it in. Decoder was taken into multichoice and they uploaded the software from USB that removed the error. The problem is now that the 2nd decoder isn't set to be secondary anymore. So when I use my primary remote by moving a channel up then both decoders go one channel up.

Mutilchoice tells me to change the primary decoder to RESPOND, IGNORE, RELAY from Respond, Ignore, Ignore. I don't know why they asked me to do this since the problem was with the secondary decoder. Then on the secondary decoder ( I use the primary remote since the secondary remote doesn't work on it) they ask me to change it to IGNORE, RESPOND, RELAY. However it won't allow me to change it to this saying "The selected Remote Control mode is not set to RESPOND. Please check the settings. Adjust your remote control and try again". Multichoice agents are just reading a script and don't know what to do next so I'm stuck.

Check if there is an option for the primary decoder to only accept commands from a remote set to TV1 and that the secondary can be set to accept commands set to TV2 only.

I wish there was such a setting. The equivalent setting is the one I mentioned but that refuses to change.

Resolved: Once you change the channle 2 to respond then tiy can use the 2nd remote to click OK without having to click OK with the first remote to save.

So on primary decoder:
channel 1: respond
channel 2: ignore
channel 3: ignore

On secondary decoder:
channel 1: ignore
channel 2: respond
channel 3: ignore
Also on secondary decoder in equpment setup
tvlink/ Auxillary: On (to enable the Eye)
Frequency to something other than the default i.e. not 63 otherwise the frequencies of the primary and secondary will interfere with each other. So e.g. 30
Then just tune your tv to the same frequency you just set it.
