Well if you hit too hard you'll end up with plastic shards in your hand, and potentially an IRDETO tattoo on your palm.

I put mine on the floor. Gave it a gentle kick on the right hand side. A hard kick on the left. Got the spare one out of the store room. Voila! Working.

My DSTV is not playing, NO SIGNAL on the TV screen and flashes green and red light on the decoder with yellow light on.

It looks like your power adapter is dead. It is no longer sending enough power to the decorder. You need a new power cord

Flat hand is for a smartcard error for the flashlight error its a closed fist.

Hit it hard twice with a flat hand, then plug it back in... then it should work.
