DTI welcomes Mohlala ruling

The department of trade and industry welcomed the Labour Court's ruling on Friday that National Consumer Commission head Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi's job contract ends in September. more

Pretty much as I predicted... a contract is a contract! Read it before you sign it. All that this court ruling does is to force the Minister to indicate that her contract will not be renewed and he must do so within 10 days.

Pity she is going. She is good for the department and at the job she's doing. But she has to abide by the terms and conditions of the contract.

Nothing prevents her from re-applying for the position, She'll have a great advantage over the other applicants!

Chances are they won't do squat in 10 days, so she will have to file for contempt...

But yes, if its a 2 year contract, its a 2 year contract.... She will have an advantage over other applicants though.

Hang on, wasn't she fired from DoC for non performance?
And the NCC is completely dysfunctional...

Good?

The NCC became operational on April 1 2011. Since Mohlala-Mulaudzi’s reign the NCC has issued compliances on Auction Alliance, City of Joburg, vehicle manufacturers and telecommunications, among others. However, the majority of these notices will be appealed at the consumer tribunal.

One of those others, was Bombela/Gautrain for the 7 and 35 day prepaid train ticket bundles that violate the CPA's 6 month validity period (IIRC).

As a Gautrain customer, I would really like to know what is happening with that issue, and if Bombela had a brain they would realise that making the whole Gautrain experience more flexible will result in more Gautrain customers and therefore more revenue for Bombela (despite the price hike that comes into effect next month).

Good?

She and the toothless corrupt ex-minister-general Siphiwe Nyanda did not see eye to eye (she is vertically challenged).
