Dual Core and Quad Core

yup :) 9.2k is as close to 10k as you'll get

i cannot give you an exact amount but 10k was a good guess

im sure amd's cpu will be more expensive if it out performs intel

Like when? When was an AMD CPU more than an Intel CPU for the same performance? When AthlonXP's were selling for under R1,000 they were out doing all Pentium 4 CPU's which started at R1,000...

When Athlon64 FX came out Intel didn't have a competing part but when they released Extreme Edition it was more expensive. So when was it that AMD had a more expensive CPU for the same or better performance?

FX55 was $900 retail while XE 3.46 was $999 per1000 units. (oem price)
FX-51 was $733 while XE 3.2GHz was $808
Pentium 840 $999 AMD X2 4800+ $1,001 ($2 difference for vastly superior performance)
Pentium 4 XE 3.73GHz Prescott $975 vs FX-55 $808
Just some examples... ;)

As for the AthlonXP range going back to K6 AMD was cheaper even when they were out performing the intel CPU's. R9.2K isn't as close to 10K as you'll get, the closest would be R9,999.99 without actually being R10,000. That however is besides the point, I'd like to know where I said anything about QX6700 price...

Question, the 'default' Windows XP Pro is for 1 to 2 CPU's, would you have to purchase a version that supports 1 to 4 CPU's for the OS to actually utilize Quad Core? never seen that package except for in Server Versions (2000 / 2003). But hey, Vita is out, how many CPU's does that support?

No the normal XP will do just fine. It's limited to 1-2 CPUs for Pro but as many cores as you like.

Dual core or Quad core. Who cares what the difference is!! They both make the pc work, thats all that matters. Isn't it???

Speed baba speed.....And the ability to do more things at once oh and greed ofcorse..
