A friend of mine want's Dual View, now I'm told that dual view only comes with the new HD decoders?
Donmt make the old ones anymore?

They don't want to upgrade to HD dstv just yet, can they use a normal dish etc purchase an HD decoder , connect it to a non HD TV and have Dual view capabilities . they have a TV in the bedroom which they would like dstv on , also non HD TV.

Regards

The HD is not dual view. Do research on Xtraview. If they don't need PVR capabilities, that might be the option. They will use 2 x 1131 or 1110 decoders and link them through an Xtraview setup.

find a used old one....junkmail..dstv website has ads too...bought mine used from there for R1200 long time ago (if he was closer he coulda have mine ;-) )

It sucks that you cannot do dualview with PVR on the HD decoders. What if i want to watch something recorded on the 2nd tv? This is the reason I have bought a PVR(original) in the first place. Won't upgrade until then.

Until when? If you are waiting for a dual view HD, then you will wait forever. New cheaper HD with smaller HDD should be available soon. Xtraviewing 2 of those might be the solution.
