Hiya,

I'm looking for a 2nd-hand Dualview decoder to add a second connection to the existing one (fairly new), but when I have found that can anyone advise me further?

I take it I'll need (and to do):
1. Dualview decoder + smartcard
2. Activate Xtraview
3. connect dualview as the main box and take the single to my room?
4. Wireless equipment to send the signal to my room?

I'm in CT if anyone knows of a reputable business that could help me with this.
I'm clueless..

AFAIK the dualview decoder does not support Xtraview

If you can get hold of one the SD PVR does have dualview and support Xtraview - but they are not that easy to obtain.

Ok how do I setup a second separate channel on my pc?

Active the dual thingy on your smart card.

Get an Ellies wireless sender (around R500-R750) - use red/white/yello cable to connect to Ellies wireless sender.

Where in Cape Town are you? PM me you location. I can point you in the right direction.

You won't be able to find the old dual view... and you are going to struggle getting an SD PVR. That can also only be set up for Xtra View with an HD PVR. Why do you want to go wireless?

I don't think he's looking for Xtra View - I think he just wants to take the 2nd TV output from a dual view decoder to another room....

Xtra View with 2 singles then... or HD + single... because he won't find any dual decoder. Actually saw 10 SD PVR's at one of my clients in Windhoek the other day, but they can not be activated on a South African account.

Shot, ye I want to be able to change channels separately??

Wireless, well because it's essentially a granny flat (attached with no inner entrance), wouldn't really like to run a cable outside..

Just to make 100% certain

1.) You only want two channels
2.) One in the main room with the decoder.
3.) One in another room, wirelessly.
4.) Using a dualview decoder?

This can be done with a Dual view

You can actually have two channels in the main room, and one of these two channels shared with the other room.... thats what I've done.
