Dungeon Keeper 2

Forget about DK2 and play DK1 rather.

DK1 is awesome, DK2 was FAIL.

the one you are talking about will never be DK. close, but no cigar. The DK Online MMO sucks balls too, apparently.

There is a true DK fan remake in the pipelines though, using the Unreal engine - but it won't be available for a few years to come.

I have no idea why I've never run into DK. I'm sure I've heard it mentioned over the years. Been stuck in a time warp with WoW I guess but branching out and exploring other things now. DK looks pretty cool :D

Yes, Nothxbi, I think everyone born before 1995 has played it even "eventually." It's an amazingly fun game. Yes, it's worth getting. Also, Dungeons will be released next year. It's said to be in the same vein as the old Bullfrog favourite.
 
you are making a mistake playing DK2 first.

play DK1, it's 1000x better.

even if it doesn't have the "newer" graphics like DK2, both will look equally dated by today's standars. DK1 is darker, has better gameplay, and the creatures look better. DK2 launched in a time when 3D started, so they are very low polygon creatures - DK1's are pre 3D rendered.


Trust me, My nick is not Keeper because I like soccer.

The first PC I ever owned was in 2003 and games played were mostly UT, Quake and Warcraft 2 until I eventually discovered WoW, the rest is history LOL so I have some catching up to do!

That Dungeons reminds me of Dungeon Siege I/II, finished that a few times. Will keep tabs on it for it's release, really enjoy the dungeon type genres.

Dungeon Keeper II for the win! Definately one of my top games, so dam sad how they canned DK3, would have been epic. EvilGenius was a similar spin off, but nothing compared to the feel of DK2.

There is KeeperFX which is an addon for DK, been meaning to give it a try aswell. If you havent played this game, I would definately recommend it. As for playing DK1 first, uhm, I still havent played it, so I should also give that a bash!

Dont know If i agree with this, cos DK2 was an epic game. Yes there were some bugs, but an epic game. Thanks for the heads up on the DK1, will be nice to compare!

No sweat :D Personally, I love that you're catching up on classics--many overlook such fantastic masterpieces in favour of "teh new."

Dungeons will be a strategy game more than it will be an RPG, I can only hope it lives up to the legacy left behind by Dungeon Keeper.

Oh man I have the best memories of lanning both dungeon keeper 1 and 2 with my best mate! I think i'm going to download and play them now for nostalgia's sake

KeeperFX is not an official addon, it was coded by one of the guys on my Dev team :p

I would seriously suggest you give the original a try if you liked DK2, because, imo, DK1 is awesome, DK2 was a big fail.
 
Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 are both AWESOME.

I got so excited as they had a trailer for number 3 but it didn't happen. :(
