Howzit guys. I swear it feels like I am constantly having to put on new wipers on my car. The wipers were replaced with my last service at VW a few months ago and already the one on the driver side is coming loose and is flapping round when wiper is activated.

I was wondering if any of you use these Durablades they advertise on TV? Are they any good? Are they easy to fit yourself? Do they last? I am just plain gatvol of constantly having to replace wipers.

noooo!!!!

Never durablades.

Rather go to a spares shop & insist on bosch wiperblades.

They often assist you to remove & replace the blades on your car.

& while the dude does that you can enjoy some eyecandy(if good looking) by staring at his butt....

midas, any other brand shop.

Bought my most recent ones from an autozone store.

Just don't buy the cheap crap they(any spares place) offer.

anything sold from these TV Channel shops is questionable from my experience. I have learned to stick to things that I know work, unless I am really convinced something is better quality after doing research, talking to people and hands on seeing and testing the product.

Durablades are junk, get proper wiper blades from the guys who make them (and cut out the greedy VW dealer middle man) - so get Champion, Bosch or Trico is what I recommend.

and you can get them from most any motor spares shop. I recommend Goldwagen or Midas. just google auto spares shops and look at the big chain stores they have. avoid your corner cafe spares shop, from experience not all of them are trustworthy unless you know them well.

The only reason why durablades don't perish and look "good as new" after years of use is because they are made of silicone. Silicone, however, is hydrophobic, so it's a bad material to use for wind-shield wipers.

rather use wool string, it's hydophillic :wtf:

The Durablades don't tear, but they don't work so well after a few months.

Not in my experience. I bought them once. They didn't work so well from day 1.

Buy a good brand (Bosch was mentioned but there are others) and replace every 2 years if the car stands in the sun, less often if it gets shade. It's the sun that kills them.

lol?

Durablades are EPIC. Greatest invention of our lifetime...

If done correctly and fitted properly they last forever. I have used Durablades only on all my cars. The first ones I fitted too tightly and it messed me around. Learned my lesson and ever since no problems at all.

Durablade is just plain a useless ripoff. I have gone back to standard.

Bosch Aerotwin. Best wipers on the market. Midas (usually) and Diesel-Electric stocks it.

I had replaced my wipers on my old taz to durablades. It worked okay but I must admit they moved and the arm scratched my window quite heavy. I eventually went to Gans motor spares and got pirate parts and replaced the arms and the blades and boom it worked better than Durablades in my opinion. I wouldnt do Durablades.
