Afternoon MyBB :) Hope all you dudes and dudets (Not sure on spelling here :notworthy: )

Making this thread for all those that make use of my services either a custom built system or parts supplied or even end to end systems installed. This is just to help further as I dont have any space on google currently or a website and go by word of mouth on the service I provide or offer. For those that make use of what I do from myBB, I would like this thread to be a shout yay:thumbsup: or Ney:thumbsdown: on how their experience was when dealing with me from the onset to delivery be it good or bad, I want to tackle it all to make it right and to give those some comfort when purchasing from me, they getting exactly what they expect.

I want on what's being built to stand on what I say and not just words spoken and for it to have some footing at some point. I do plan to have a Website up and running by end of March but which will still be very basic as I prefer the interaction between company and customer to build a relationship that can be relied on.

I am more than willing to help and even go the longer mile and travel in some cases to make sure a system is installed properly or even take back a item or 2 for a upgrade to either lithium or a better inverter.

Every system that I build before its package or a system installed ( I know some here love seeing the whole process, which I have started documenting each stage ) Will be posted with specs and why that system was went with.

There is a system being built currently for another forumite member, Pics to follow soon.

Thank you all that have supported so for and thank you for all those to come. Perhaps I can speak to the admins and have a basic trolley system given away as a kind gesture :love:
 
Well I may as well jump in here … I’m very happy with the inverter trolley I got from Bunny. I just keep wondering why I never bothered to get a trolley system earlier. It just kind of seemed to keep getting better, and then last year it became clear it wasn’t going to get better again. All I know is it killed me whenever I lost my external monitor and I had to try work for hours on a laptop screen (never mind battery anxiety and having to unplug accessories to scrape through the 4 hour slots). The inverter has solved all of that. Yes i didn’t get the ideal system (and I live in a complex so I can’t install solar), but if you’re struggling every day with trying to work through loadshedding … take the hit and get some inverter quotes. It’s not the solution to all your electricity problems (in fact it introduces other battery longevity concerns), but it sure as heck is a step in the right direction.

Yeah sure I'll vouch for you. Saw @DuracellBunny mentioned in a few threads so took a chance and asked him what he can cook up. Was looking for something compact but with a little more oomph than Geewiz offerings. Was also looking at powerprovider offerings but builds looked like gecko magnets to me.

He suggested and I settled on a 3Kva Kodak/Pylon UP2500 2.8Kwh/12U server chassis.. He was available whereas other places had waiting lists stretching 2 months.

Once ordered he kept me in the loop via email almost daily. He also tested the system first over 1-3 days to ensure it was working as intended. In my case the inverter ordered was problematic so he had to reorder another one during which he even offered an upgrade should the next one also have issues just to keep progress timely. That wasn't needed though but the thought was appreciated.

On shipping he phoned personally to notify me it was on its way. The system was completely bubble-wrapped and tied to crate. Extremely well packaged. Was very impressed. One thing to keep in mind though is this thing's weight. This is a back breaker. I strongly suggest you have your gardener working on delivery day Actually, tell your gardener to bring a friend too.

That said its PnP and its been working well since received. Once I have some pennies lying around I'll be getting another one.

I am in the early stages of getting some sort of backup power system, and the quote and service I got from Bunny was very re-assuring to me as a noob when it comes to this stuff.
Have to do some planning and assesment for when we can pull the trigger as other costs and priorities have surfaced, but on initial impressions, I'd be happy to continue with Bunny when we are financially ready for it.

If only STD bank were as forward thinking with solar loans+bonds as other banks :/

Maybe now that there might be some incentives for it in the form of tax rebates, our finances could wiggle a bit more!

I just wanna say how awesome this looks! @DuracellBunny, if you’d told me you could do awesome cases like that, I’d have gone for it! Next time buddy, we gotta do something special.

Lol bud, I am always trying to expand what I can offer for my custies so they do end up getting the best at the end of the day. I have refined the system a bit more and a bit excited to post it here :) But when you ready man and looking to upgrade those leaddies for lithium, Hit me up will make a good deal for you and take that battery box you have away and upgrade it.

Rewiring of DB as wires was bound with electrical tape and twisted. Some breakers not attached to the din rail.
New DB boards installed.
Replacement of Earth Leakage - That thing was dead to the world.
E/N Bonding relay installed.
Repositioning of CT clamp.

DC Side
Isolators changed from AC to DC.
Battery cable redone as no insulation was on lugs.

Panel earthing still yet to be done, panel structure has some panels in a compromising position with some panels slightly bent on rails. Still working out how to get that rectified.

@RonSwanson @AchmatK You guys have probably long forgotten about the assistance that you gave me. My last post regarding this was here. The initial installer said "You can't do that" when I told him I need to untick "Limit to load" and showed him the current flow in the opposite direction. So I decided to call @DuracellBunny to check the whole installation.
 
Now for my long over due installation review.

My install was done in stages due to my personal financial constraints (I dont believe in loans or credit)

My original backup system was a 24V 1440VA Mecer IVR Inverter with 4 x 100ah Gel batteries

Phase 1 - June 2021
6 x 455W JA solar panels
5kW Deye Inverter
changing from a steel flush mount DB to a more modern plastic flush mount DB
Running neutral wires to my light switches as im slowing moving everything over to sonoff smart switches
Running all my aircons to a separate DB box on the aux port (All my aircons were running off plugs lol, even my 24 000btu monster)
Running a new circuit for my mining rigs thats on the aux port as well

PS Im running lead acid batteries here as I didnt have enough to pay for lithium batteries yet

Phase 2 - November 2021

Changed my lead acid batteries to a Hubble AM-2

Phase 3 - February 2022

Installed 6 more JA 455W solar panels

Phase 4- November 2022

Added one more Hubble Am-2

Phase 5 - November 2023

Will be adding in 1 more Hubble AM-2 then I should be done

Is that orange trunking / pipe (that I assume to be for PV DC) metal? The (draft) SANS standards wants it to be.

This is very bad, no wonder his readings were all over the place. Should of had taken photos. I get kinda upset when I hear about stuff like this, especially when there are kids in the home.

You will be amazed at the amount of calls outs I am doing recently with systems not up to code. Heck even getting Victron installs gone wrong. Makes me seriously wonder how the heck.
What is the SANS appropriate conduit/trunking to use when looking at PV DC cables running outside -> inside the house via the ceiling-space down a garage wall?
