When I was little, we used to go to Durbz on holiday. It really was an awesome place to go. Weird how you don't see mess like that in Cape Town's CBD (even within the poorer areas).

I lived on the Golden Mile for 12 months and apart for the 2 weeks before and after xmas the whole area, from kingsmead to suncoast along the coast line was spotless

So you don't live here then? Funny how those of us who spend every day of our lives here seem to have a different view. Photos without any context can easily say what you want them to. I have in the past seen photos of labourers sleeping on the park lawns during their lunch break being peddled as the cruelty of police shooting and killing innocent people in the middle of town!

He tells me it's just as well that his more than 7,000 pictures, taken in his ongoing campaign with the city manager to get the place cleaned up over the past few years, can't convey the incredible stench of urine and human feces which also hangs over the place.
“There is a permanent situation of stinking sewerage behind all the buildings around the entrance to the Yacht Mole. The complete railway line is covered in tons of rubbish, broken glass, an eyesore. I believe the municipal toilets should be demolished, and the half-round flower pots used by vagrants 24/7, should also be removed.

Look, I know people tend to pull things out of context to suit their own argument. Take a better look at those photos. I know overnight rubbish, I used to see it every day in Joburg's CBD. That rubbish has been piling up for a pretty long time.

You complain that I am using photos which have been pulled out of context yet you give me coincidental evidence? Photo evidence and no link to boot. You don't even state where this alleged incident took place. Let me remind you that this topic is discussing Durban.

There is clearly a problem in Durban. The people that live there are complaining. Why would they do that if there is no problem?
