My tip is dress warm! The weather looks like it is not going to be pleasant in Durbs tomorrow. I hope I am totally wrong as the last thing we need is for the ladies to cover up!

As for the horses, some thing s I found :

An Omen

The Vodacom Durban July will be run on Saturday 4th July, American Independence Day. If you believe in omens then take a look at a horse called Thandolwami. The Jockeys colours are the stars and stripes! If you are in to numbers then remember that this is the 113th running of the race and the number of this horse is, yes you guessed - 13. Oh it has a good draw at 7, so that's lucky too!

Horse number and draw

Each horse in the field for the Vodacom Durban July has a number from one to twenty. They also have a draw number for their starting stall - 1 being nearest the rails and so on. There have been several times when horses have won with the same number and draw. This year there are two in the race; horse number 2, Our Giant is drawn 2, and number 14 Bouquet Garni is drawn 14. So if either of those are your lucky numbers, or your birthday, this could save you time in making your selection.

The draw

Conventional wisdom says it's better for a horse tojump from a starting stall nearer the rail than on the outside. The track is curved so the horses drawn on the inside, the lower numbers, have less distance to travel. So in theory a draw of one is better than a draw of 20 - but does the horse know this? Dynasty was the winner by a length in 2003 even though it was drawn 20 and Classic Flag did it in 1998 from a draw of 18. So obviously they didn't know. It's the Vodacom Durban July and anything's possible. Tropical Empire, horse number 8, is in the number 1 spot.

Girls & Boys

The girls, sorry fillies and mares, haven't done as well in the race as the boys.

The Vodacom Durban July has only been won by the fairer sex on 12 occasions, leaving the boys with the other 100 wins. However last year the filly Dancers Daughter managed a dead heat win with Pocket Power. So if you have an eye for the girls look at River Jetez, Outcome and Zirconeum - they won't mind!

Thank goodness i don't play the horses and only soccer 6 and 4's :D

Although wow pocket power a huge disappointment you noob :D. Bring back the horse chestnuts dammit!!!!!!!!!!
