Problem is the July is the biggest scam in horse racing with the tag of favourite usually counting for absolutely zero.

Horse racing itself is a big scam. Wherever bookmakers are involved, it's hard not to get the impression that the outcomes are usually fixed way before the event.

If you're going to gamble on horses, choose a lesser favourite with lower odds and spend a nominal amount on it. That way you lose a little, but have the potential of a big payout. There are only about 20 horses running so the favourites usually have crappy payouts?

Uh, I think killa just divided your R800 by your R10 bet to get odds of 80/1. Hunting Tower was definitely not those odds last year. Was in in the 10 - 20/1 bracket IIRC.
