Hi Guys

Just a note that MTN has launched a South African First today with the
DSTV enabled New Samsung P 910

It has 2 24-hour channels it will be growing shortly...

Channels = Fashion T.V
CNN

So it's up for discussion.......

Pls don't ask as to why they have fashion T.V as one of the channels....
Probably for the late night shows....

LOL whats the point they still want to charge you the data costs of streaming the video.

Funny that the trial service is available in Parow but you need 3G coverage to use it and there is no 3G available in Parow.

How do you understand that?

I honestly feel your pain. However for the people unable to look at the Beautiful scenery that you guys have in Cape Town will be able to view DSTV. I honestly in my own opinion would only have a go at it once they have the Super sport channels, That is the only reason I have a Dish in the first place...lol

the tv they are offering is 3g TV. is similar to the vodacom channels (15 channels)

its not DVB-h. the phone simply supports that also

DVB-H is what I want. DVB-H isn't linked to any cell phone service provider. When DVB takes of it will be available everywhere normal TV can be received, not just the big cities that have 3G.

The only problem is multichoice, how much are they gonna charge us?!

They probably wont charge less than what they charge for DSTV now because if you have a phone with a TV out like the Samsung D800 etc.. you will be able to watch whatever you receive on your phone right on your television.

That will be cool.

Just out of interest ...... Won’t one need a T.V license when purchasing the phone ...LOL :D

I don't think they can charge the same price for the DVB-H service. There will be less channels I presume and maybe the resolution will be less?

True, if the resolution's anything like the 3G channels you won't see much on a TV.

I've seen it and it's wicked kicks 3G's streaming’a butt

Cool, remember Voda were looking at marketing it as an alternative to DSTV, would MTN do the same. Maybe release special handsets that are effectively set-top boxes?
