DVD Decrypter - why does it still work

Actually, the big advantage of DVD43 is the fact that it decrypts on the fly, which saves massive amounts of time. If you use DVD43, there's really no need to use DVDdecrypter to rip to the hard-drive first. You can open up the DVD directly with DVDshrink, and recode immediately... skipping the rip process

DVD43 is actually part of Fengtao's DVDFab.

There are other utilities which allow you to rip DVD, BDs and HD-DVDs.

They have and there are many discs that cannot be read by dvddecrypter alone. I'm not sure why they targeted dvddecrypter, but not any of the other tools that can handle their updated measures. Maybe the developer was an easy target.

They haven't targetted DVD-Decrypter in particular. They (mostly SONY) has targetted these rippers at large and since there are dozens of rippers, some integrated into AVI conversion software (IMTOO's DVD Ripper)
these need to be updated regularly.
