DVD ISO to AVI or DIVX

Hands down the best piece of software I have ever used for this process.
I have tried a lot - the kids have a pile of original DVDs, and it is a pain in the rear to keep putting them in and out - especially when they change their minds as soon as I get the DVD past the "cannot fast forward" anti-piracy trailers.

So I rip them all to standalone DVD player. Much easier :-)
 
MediaCoder

For encrypted movies use DVDFab Decryptor to rip to HDD. Then use Nero-Recode to compile the movie into a single MP4 file. Then convert to Divx with MediaCoder.

MediaCoder can Nero's part too, but I find that sometimes choosing the audio track (language and surround settings) can be tricky. Nero-Recode makes that easier IMO.

Try using GordianKnot Rippack, get a "tutorial" page to hep you first off but there after you'll be able to do it alone. I use it all the time and my results are great... GordianKnot FTW :)

Did you use DVD Decrypter when you created the ISO?
 
Mount in Daemon Tools and convert with DVD Zip Pro - also need latest DivX codecs.
Excellent DivX quality and can fit 5-6 avi files on one DVD.
Use AnyDVD and DVD Region+CSS free running in the background for decryption.
 
DVD Shrink & Simple DivX :)

Use DVD Shrink to Cut out the all the stuff you don't want [Like the Cerdits and copy protection notices] save to a .ISO then open it up in Simple DivX and rip to a std. DVD resolution choose sound and Video compresion and hey presto!

BTW Simple DivX might take some time on older single core CPU's :P

I took FF:Spirits Within from a 4.6GB ISO to a 900Mb AVI and still have excelent quality :D
