DVD player with USB + Divx and an external HDD

I am trying to find out if it is possible to use an external HDD (NTFS) the same way one would use a flash disk on a sinotec dvd player with a USD port and mp3 and divx compatibility.

Might be in the wrong section but I don't know where else to post.
 
Do you know for certain that the Sinotec DVD player supports the NTFS file system? In my experience most of the DVD players with USB ports do NOT support NTFS because of the expense of licensing for that File System. FAT32 is older and much cheaper to license and most of them choose to go that route.
 
I decided the past weekend to put on 3 DVD movies on flash to play in my dvd player.Didin't want to play it.Any reason for that?If you copy a DivX file it picks it up but nothing in Video TS folders for DVD's..
 
It didn't seem to work... Told the person to try a flash disk with some avi's (thats the format they are trying to play - seems that falls under divx?) If that doesn't work we will try FAT32 on the flash and if that works... Its about trying to format a 650Gb drive into fat32 using a utility program...

Query: Can changing between fat32 and NTFS formats damage the hard drive... I had a Toshiba external break, the guy at matrix tried to convince me that by changing from one format to the other you damage the "cylinders" or something... I called bull s#$t and toshiba replaced the faulty drive no problems
 
Today I bought a Sinotec DVD player dvd-9094. I am very happy with it but the only thing I can't work out how to do is to play tunes in Random order when playing from the flash disk - probably also when playing from a CD but I haven't tested that yet. Does anyone who has one of these know if it is possible?

(in my experience) normally these DVD players require a flash drive (smaller than 8 GB) and never work with external HDD. Some play AVI and others are able to play MP4.

If you want to play movies on an external HDD, why not consider something like the WD Tv Mini?
 
My LG bluray 3d DVD player plays hardrives with ntfs fine and every format of video/music and was also quite cheap (R800)

Matrix Technicians arent trained (mostly book knowledge which is very limited) so they make up any stories since they don't know much from my experience with them in PMB so I would rather use a different PC shop even Incredible Connection ones are better.

Never buy anything from Matrix Warehouse

Just what I am looking for. Can you give the model number and the name of the store you bought it from. Also, does it have RCA outputs for video/sound or only HDMI?

Probably the BP120/125/325 but rather wait for him to reply.

Check the specs though as they don't all support the same video formats (BP120 for example does not do mkv according to the specs).
