Dvd Regions

DVD Decrypter will do the job. Then you just need to burn it to a new dvd. If you can only burn 4.5 gb dvds then you might need DVD Shrink to reduce it to a more manageable size.

Did you know they were selling you a non-SA region DVD?

Have you got 9gb dvds and a d/l burner?

My Toshiba DVD-player is region-free. You can come over and we watch it on my Tosh! :)

I bought it years ago, because I've got a few American DVDs (region 1) and a lot from the UK (region 2).

SA is part of region 2 so you could have played those on any local player.
No 9gb dvd's (can't find them anywhere). However I am trying DVD Shrink which I hope will work. Don't know what d/l burner is though
It's just a dvd burner capable of burning dual layer dvd's - ie the 9gb ones.

What DVD player do you have? There are ways to unlock some using remote codes.

She has a Samsung SH-W162L (well, thats Saharas code for it)

Its Dual +/- DVD Writer, 16X +R, 4X +RW, 8X -R, 4X -RW, 40X CD-R, 24X CD-RW.

Is it not compatible with your set-top DVD player, or are you referring to the DVD player in your PC?

Either way, there are usually ways to unlock both.

DVD43 if you want something free that will decrypt and remove the region code on most DVDs.

I thought the whole point of regions is that you weren't supposed to be able to buy them in other regions (at least from proper shops anyway).
My cousin got caught out buying a region 1 DVD, then suffered in silence while he was forced to watchit on his laptop. (losing one region change credit in the process)

They should scrap the whole region thing and start again.
