DVI to RCA/HDMI

I have a mac pro (2008) box with two DVI ports. I have my monitor on one port but I want to connect the other DVI to my home theatre system. The HT amp has RCA and HDMI ports. How best can I get to play my movies/music on my mac play via my amp for both sound and picture? Looked at the Blackmagic Design Intensity pro card and R2500 is not within my reach. Or are there any cheaper cards I can look at?

1.8m HDMI Cable = R90
DVI-HDMI Converter = R60
2m Cable with DVI on one end and HDMI on the other R150.

Or ask a mate with a high-endish NVidia/ATi graphics card for one of his converters. Serious games will not use them as the HDMI bandwidth is too low.
