Anyone having problems updating their dyndns.org dns url?
Myself and someone else has been using the Dynamic Dns updater in the Netgear router, it has worked fine up until today. The error the Netgear gives is HTTP cannot connect. I can however get the dyndns.org url to update via the dyndns updater program. Any1 had any problems today and knows what wrong with it?

I'm also experiencing a problem. According to the website, my router last updated the IP address on March 09, 2007 3:30:27 AM.

DDoS Attack on members.dyndns.org

Sat, 10 Mar 2007 22:55

As of March 9th, 17:00 UTC, members.dyndns.org has been subject to a number of Distributed Denial of Service attacks. DynDNS Administrators have been taking a number of steps to try to mitigate and minimize the impact of the attack. As of March 10th, 17:00 UTC, steps were taken to isolate our main website, www.dyndns.com, out of the line of fire of the attack. We're continuing to analyze and evaluate the situation, however, customers may experience periods where update clients are unable to update DNS hostnames. Customers should simply re-try their update.

We'll continue to post updates to this situation as they become available.

Cool thanks. I had a look on their site this morning but didnt find anything. It seems as though selected update clients are working and anothers not. Quite painful.

3 Netgear users that i know cant update via the built in updater. Im gonna do some googling to find out...

Damn this is annoying. I mananged to get it to work by upgrading the firmware on my router. I have a WRT54G V3.1. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version 4.21.1. It solves the DynDNS issue, but after a while the internet connection stops working even though the router is connected.

I installed the dd-wrt firmware and it's working now. It looks like there is a problem with the DynDNS client on some firmware versions.

Got a mail this morning saying my password has been changed on my account. So who ever changed it changed the email addy aswell. Thats why need the contact numbers for them. Or should i register a new Account?

Their problems seem to be ongoing, however. Can't update our company DSL IP. A traceroute (via ADSL) shows the following in the last few hops:

12 63.211.169.134 395.437 ms 4.69.132.245 325.651 ms 63.211.169.134 358.433 ms
13 63.211.169.134 355.896 ms 63.208.196.57 368.742 ms !X 63.211.169.134 358.496 ms
14 63.208.196.57 344.431 ms !X 343.143 ms !X 341.958 ms !X

The !X means that packets have specifically been denied. My guess is that they're limiting connection rates to their server(s).
