Hi there

I am in the need of an e-Commerce website developer?

Who would you recommend and why?

Thank you!

Hello,

e-commerce related services... yo! over here.

They can keep us up till these hours. with much enlightenment!

I could recommend a lot, I'm going to refrain from this. You surely know what you are looking for, let us know a bit more.
A lot of information you will receive on this forum. you are also welcome to send me a message for the daylight hours.

can some one recommend a transport company that has an API to integrate into a e-commerce site, so far the only one I know of is time freight

You and me both brother!

+1 for MDS collivery, they will make integration very simple!

Heya guys,

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm one of the devs at MDS Collivery. And as mentioned above, I can't imagine integration being any easier.

If you are using WooCommerce, Virtuemart or Magento, then we have a plugin available for you, else, if you are a PHP dev, check out this page: https://github.com/Collivery/Collivery-Client

Our general webservice documentation can be found at: http://collivery.co.za/wsdocs/

Give me a shout on Skype (Xethron), or just message me on the forum if you need any assistance.

Kind regards,
Bernhard Breytenbach

Disclaimer: I work for MDS Collivery, and as a result, the above post *could* be bias, as I truly believe we provide the best service/API out there. :p

Please give me your thoughts regarding my requirements.

What do I like?
Below I have listed a couple sites I like.

My FAVOURITE site is http://www.mummade.co.nz/
What I like is the design and to me this site shouts "Craft", but it has to cater for both men and women, (like the second site).

The second site I like is http://oakstreetbootmakers.com/footwear
If you can combine this site with the first one, you may have a winner ;-).
Firstly the site is clean and simple. Each image/product has a name and price above the image, after selecting the product, the customer is then presented with more information, with the option to purchase and below there is a section for "May we recommend"; love that!!!
I do however want a customer to continue shopping after they have added a product to the cart.

The third site I like is http://retina-theme.myshopify.com/
There is craft, professionalism and there is certain functionality I like, as an example; multiple photos, description, you aren't presented with a pop up window when selecting the image, other quality products are displayed, (http://retina-theme.myshopify.com/products/mojave-pickers-wallet)

What I am considering for the following pages for the Crafters Village website (high level):

1. Welcome page, opposed to a homepage.

2. Store page with a list of products and a category (bags, coffee, hats...) on the left. Also to include a page show casing the Crafter ;-)

3. What's On - What's Happening - Markets page?

4. Contact page

The above is only high-level!
Thank you.

Since our parcels are large, i need a road freight company who has an API that can integrate with Open Cart. Courier companies work out to expensive.

They handle stock and everything too, basically becomes same as drop shipping from your own warehouse

Yes - quite valuable if you are starting off with e-commerce and don't want to invest in picking-and-packing and warehousing.

Hi
I'm also in looking for a small e-commerce website to sell about 50 items in a few months. I would like to do it myself as much as I can, what would you guys recommend?

Hi,

I know this is an old topic, but I want to find out how it's going with the company you chose for your road freight? I need to use a road freight company for some items as well but don't know who to use, especially when it comes to integrating with an ecommerce website. The items to be shipped could weigh upto 1Ton or even 2Ton.

DHL and Fastway couriers have eCommerce integration API's

we use time freight, they have one of the largest footprints I believe. Where do you ship most of your items to?
Frequently send parcels between 40kgs to a tonne with them.

So far our integration consists purely of the customer being able to get the delivery price online. We don't have the option to track the parcel online.
