I travel from Durban to Richards Bay, and back, twice a week. I dont plan on driving my car to JHB so those gantry tolls wont affect me.

Are there any downsides of getting an e-tag to use at the e-tag lane? I will only save around 10 to 20 min on my drive, either way I will have to pay the toll fees.
Or do I rather sit in traffic and not give in to that POS system?

Don't give in to the system...

Not sure about this but SANRAL might be adding e-tolls to the N2 and N3 during their planned upgrades, so I wouldn't get an e-tag.

This would be interesting. Im sure the lovely people of KZN will burn those down since a large number of jobs will be lost due to automation

Don't give in to their POS System... regardless of how they try and tell you it saves time...

They are having a trial run at DUT so hopefully they put all that practice to good use.

I pass by a toll everyday to work and got the E-tag for convenience, Honestly in terms of pricing its the same. The difference is it saves time and saves the hassle of having to find change or stop and swipe my card. Been using it for half a year and no issues
