unlike your average person who has a left and right hemisphere to the brain old zoomer has a front and back hemisphere (hence the shape of his head) the front hemisphere is connected to his dick which is why he has so many wives and the back hemisphere is connected to his arsehole which is why he talks so much kak

Why?

Because the tolls are not a concern to the majority of their voters, those in rural areas; who don't even have a car. I bet they don't even have a clue what eTolls are for that matter and thus, they simply don't care.

However, because the ANC gives them free shirts and food packets and once again promises more housing, jobs, schools, and because the ANC got them out of the apartheid era; they will be forever loyal. Hell, Zuma can build a R250 million house next to a bunch of very poor people to see him in his castle and how he lives and how he couldn't give a rats ass about them and their poverty (Oh, yes, he did do that too) the ANC would still win and voters would still vote for ANC.

Until the uneducated voters and the loyalist to the ANC see the ANC for who they really are - nothing will ever change. The ANC makes sure their voters are uneducated because that's how they will stay in power.

don't underestimate the understanding of some of those in rural areas. At one of the public hearings I attended there was a chap who'd driven in from the boondocks to attend (I think he was from North West). He said he has a small transport business and regularly does runs into Gauteng. He had a full on go at Scamral, Dept.s of Transport and Treasury about the e-tolls as he said they would have a significant impact in his profit margins (to the point of putting him out of business). He said there were a lot of other people like him out in the rural areas that were extremely upset about the whole thing.

That's a glimmer of hope if there ever were one in our current situation.

The only time we will know exactly what the majority think about our sad excuse for a government is in next year's elections. Sadly, I predict two third's to ANC. I sincerely hope I am proved wrong though.

Edit: The Sanral act came into being on 1 April 1998. :p

Because we've been irrevocably committed to this course for years? The contracts are sign already. I doubt the gov could get out even if it wanted to.
