E-toll debts not getting scrapped

The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) will not scrap outstanding debts for e-tolls in Gauteng after the system's shutdown, but there will seemingly be no effort to collect the debts or serious consequences for failing to pay them.

That is according to a document shared by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi in a post on X during a joint press briefing by Sanral, the national Department of Transport, and Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) on Wednesday, 10 April 2024.

So it won't go away, but also we won't do anything about it, got it, good luck on changing your mind on that later

Well they have 3yrs from tomorrow to instigate proceedings which is legal in order to recover the money for today and the 3yrs decreases every day back they want to collect for.

Never acknowledge or even talk to them just say I have no idea what you talking about.

I haven't driven in GP for over 3 years and I've never received an invoice or anything so my debts are basically written off then :D

I was in JHB for 2 years: 2019 and 2020. By my calculation, any of the so called debt has already prescribed. Even though I dont believe I incurred any debt.

lol, won't pursue but won't write it off. Yeah good luck with that.

So like the SABC TV license then?

I wonder if they can get something back from a deceased estate, maybe even business ownership transfers.

These dmb fcks can't make up their minds, from one day to the other the story keeps changing.

We desperately need a new government!
Left and right hand too busy looting to communicate.....
