No, the question is how hard are we going to allow them to screw us. They can only screw us if we allow it.
 
At the risk of the imminent flame treatment I will receive :D

I'm getting mine purely for the 45 minutes to an hour time savings the improvements to Allandale have shown. The run up N1 North from Woodmead exit is no longer the nightmare it used to be...

We all agree that the upgrades are great. But it was a natural progression as the road users ( tax payers ) increased. So it should have happened with the money they had. Heavens knows where it went but they did have it at some point.. and were collection it for a few years and have been collecting it in the 2 years since the road upgrades has started.

Its not as if all the other roads were kept in good condition, so their statement as to where the money went is a load of BS.
 
I'll buy an e-tag

And then I'll leave it at home, and tell them to go fsck themselves when they try and bill me, THEIR e-tag system is not working properly.
 
Were I still living in Joeys I wouldn't get an e-tag. It is not my intention to make it easier for them to tax me yet more. Especially when taxis don't have to pay the tax.

That was an upgrade that they should have done years ago. The fact that you want to pay for it twice says a lot about your intelligence.
 
If they can't sort out the electricity, sewage, rates accounts just imagine the effect of having to mail and administer a few hundred thousand e-toll accounts.

Don't buy the tags.

I'd LOVE to see the cops try to arrest even half of the daily N1/N3 commuters (probably a couple of hundred thousand) for not having etags....talk about having your work cut out. We'd very quickly have a riot on our hands.

Alas I think the majority of folk out there are sheep and will blindly do whatever the guvument tells them to do....

Luckily I don't go through any of the new tollgates on my daily 90km commute. So it'll be very easy for me to join you guys in our boycott :D
