E TOLL roadblocks continue

And here I thought that Scumral was coping with meeting there debt obligations as per Vusi Mona.
And now they are resoting to bullying motorists to pay up? The system must be falling apart..... Keep it up and never back down people. We will fight this "evil" till the very end.

Here in CT, we have a number of poo-protesters available for temporary hire.

Place them on higher ground than police or etroll heavies - otherwise, a drive-by pooing should suffice.

I wasn't trying to record the JMPD officer, who was very polite, curiously. When he was finished with his check the eToll guy stepped up and started with his "why doesn't your vehicle have an eTag" business, to which I replied:
"Just wait a minute, I want to record this encounter and post it on YouTube later"
"..why?"
"Okay, it is recording, you can go"
<stare>
<pretending to record, smirking>
"You may go"

Good for you :D

Do you guys know what the fine is for a outstanding disk?

R1000 bucks discounted to R500 bucks if you pay within a certain date. Also 10% per months of the outstanding cost when you do update it.

I was caught 2 weeks ago and then last week. The second time I gave a sob story about not being able to update my licence disk as my car was registered in another province and he didn't fine me the second time. Suckers. I suppose I should really make the time to just go do it. I can't say I was asked anything about E-tolls though.

I find this part of the article interesting.

But I've heard that people are being stopped and quizzed about e-tags and e-tolls!

Unfortunately, in South Africa - urban legends and rumours spread like wildfire, whilst the truth usually comes a distant last when it comes to getting the message out there. JPSA has heard all of the rumours and has even received calls and emails from people purporting to know someone who was stopped and asked "why they don't have an e-tag" and "why they are driving on the freeway without an e-tag".

Since the start of these roadblocks however, not one person has been prepared to stand behind their claims and provide us with a sworn statement to this effect. We do not wish to call the public "liars", but it is very hard to do anything based on conjecture or hearsay - more specifically where this is being denied by the authorities.

So all the people saying they were asked about e-toll why don't they go and make a sworn statement?
