E-toll tariffs to be reduced

E-toll tariffs will be adjusted downwards but government remains committed to the principle of road users funding improvements to keep Sanral solvent, the National Treasury said on Wednesday

Erm, you mean like we've always been doing with all kinds of taxes on everything that contains the words "vehicle" or "fuel"?

They really think we're dumb ****s.

Problem is, if they incorporate the bulk of it into fuel levies and car licensing, how will you be avoiding it?

I dont have a major problem with that, at least everyone INCLUDING taxis are forced to pay

Could've done that with a 10c fuel levy too, but then less opportunitues for corrupt cadres with fingers in cookie jar hey.

Anyone with any kind of brains whatsoever knows that if Sanral is in danger of going insolvent over e-tolls they only have themselves to blame. Oh yeah and white people too. They are always to blame. For everything.

I won't be paying for this crap. I sit in the traffic every bloody day of my life on that bloody highway so it's not worth the money.

We pay enough on other taxes, which gets squandered on rubbish (ministers and presidents included in that rubbish).

*** JULLE!

I would be fine with that, but they don't want to do it because they have an agreement to pay that Swiss company millions.

Sorry ANC, not sold. I'm not registering for eTolls.

I do not know if many of you know this. There is a scheme where taxi owners claim all these fees back from Government. This is not publicly known, but they are being spared from this. It will be our normal users who will be paying.

I was wondering the same thing...

Are they going to pay us to use the roads now?

does this goverment simply NOT listen to what people are toy toying about?

evidential not at all; they too busy stuffing their face and doing everything to stay in power

the people dont want etolls; finish and klaar; do whatever you want but like SOPA and PIPA on the internet;
once people make up their mind; nothing will stop them........

hehe. I don't need any relief because I'm already paying R0.00 /month

So people are supposed to be grateful that they will be paying less for something they didn't want in the first place :erm:

Isn't all public transport that's supposed to be excluded? Anyways, no one is going to pay even the reduced amount.
