E-tolls unconstitutional?

Judgement is expected to be handed down in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday as to whether the e-tolling legislation was unconstitutional and invalid.
 
I cannot imagine the apparatus of the government disagreeing with the government.

Ruling on principal

Sorry guys, I was distracted when you presented your arguments, I'm going to take a few days to "think" about it as there may be important principals involved. Once I have consulted with my principals I will let you know which arguments I have chosen.

I put it to you that since some people have already paid etolls, the system is in fact a bathroom door and as such cannot be dismantled without prejudicing the state's case against the cricket bat.
 
I am so disappointed in the way Gauteng just bent over and took these E-Tolls from behind.

I honestly thought people would stick to their guns, and walk the talk.

Instead I keep hearing people, "nah, I have too many problems of my own, don't need any more", "I don't want to get into trouble" blah blah

But at every braai the same people have a mouthful about E-Tolling but not willing to put up a fight. You reap what you sow.

Have to agree to that, all those people complaining about incorrect billing from their tags and errors they receive should just keep it to themselves, they've dug the hole they live in.

So the courts which aren't an apparatus of government by the way always rule in favour of government regardless of the merits? Separation of power education needed here.

So its irrelevant that the law might be unconstitutional because the state has separation of power? Nice, wonder why they even bother with having courts in the country.

The theory is good, but that does not mean it applies in practice.

When Zuma can appoint his own supreme court buddies it kinda goes out the window doesnt it?

Seems to me like 5/6 people have refused to get tagged and refused to pay. That is hardly bending over as you say.

That's why everyone probably knows the outcome. Irrespective of the "merits" of the case.

I agree with you , higher numbers have refused to pay the bills so that's not really bending over. And of course in every conflict you'll have one or two cowards but that doesn't mean the fight has been lost. To those who are tagged you have let us down,but we wont give up
