anyone used freeweb7.com b4???? i need to get site up and going and i try localhost and inovateq.freeweb7.com for MYSQL server dunno what else to put in for the server anyone got ideas this is rather urgent cos need to get site up and going asap

Find out the port mysql is running on on that server. Have you created the database? if you are using mysql .. is it on the same server as the website (cause ure using local host).

freeweb7 is not giving any of that infor that is what i am trying to figure out... i tried local host and the web adress where the database is

u need a host that will let you have a sql database, and you need that host to setup the database, and give you access to it. you need the sql database settings. Though i would not host a sql db thats not on the same hosting as your website, (ie, same network).

You can pick up cheap ass hosting from many of the guys here, its well worth the R20 - R50 you will be paying. Speak to texo.

mine is on the same hosting plan as my server thats what i do not understand. my sql database is with freeweb7.com and so is my website. please assist URGENTLY anyone want me to PM with my username and password so they can check it out and see if they can get it running and how they got it running i would be glad

labratza, have you contacted your host, freeweb7.com about this problem? From the URL I presume they are a free hosting company, which often means poor or no support. We don't know their setup, thus it's difficult to assist you with this.

Basically you need to setup a MySQL dabatase on their server, and then user the same username, password & server string in e107.

Hi labratza,

I recommend you check your config.php (or similar filename for e107). You should simply have a database name and a database username set up and then those details should be entered into the relevant pointers contained in that file.

The creation of the database and database user is done from your web hosting control panel.
