While everyone has got a connection (at least)

, I have got a problem in Vista...
Vista picks up my usb device as modem after I installed new firmware and dashboard from huawei's site. (Thanks to all the pple in this forum!!!)
But when the dashboard pops up, and I try to connect, it immidiately gives me an error message to either check my network connections settings or wireless device settings...

Maybe I missed something?
Anyone able to assist? Will be GREATLY appreciated!!
I may be able to help Zero. All my Vista customers with the E220 modem(with the Vodafone icon on the front), has come back complaining. Here's what you gotta do... Try it. It may work.
Firstly removing the existing software on your machine. Delete the software folder from Program Files. Remove the connection from Network Connections. Just try to remove any traces of there ever being a USB modem on your Laptop. Restart the Laptop.
You have done the firware upgrade(E220Update_11.110.05.00.00 i hope), and i hope your Windows Updates are up to date... LIKE IN TODAYS UPDATES!
Plug in the modem. The Autorun should then pop up like it does in Windows XP. Vodacom Data Support Call Centre says to go to Windows Explorer and run the software setup as Administrator from there. I say **** that(They call me these days for help

). Run it from the Autorun. It should then throw an error "Must run software as Administrator" or something. Click on OK. Another pop up comes up asking to quit or run the setup as Admin. Select "Run as Administrator". The setup should now run through and it should install the dashboard.
As in Windows XP, the Dashboard should be running, and it should ask you for the PIN number. After you put it in, click on connect, and it shouldl connect without hassle(as with most of my Vista customers).
If it throws a "Cannot Connect Error", here's what you do to fix it...
Go to Control Panel, and open up Phone and Modem Options. Click on The 3G modem, and click on Properties. Then click on "Change Settings". Click on the Advanced tag. You should see some wierd string there with a number 16 in the middel. Change that number to 1. Save the settings and try to connect again. It should work 100% now.
Hope this helps you and anyone else who has trouble with Vista and the USB modem. If all else fails, get a Data Card! They are slower, but more reliable
