Basically the modem drops about every 30 minutes or so. Not the connection... the whole modem. In windows you get the usb tone for hardware being unplugged and then plugged in again.

Same thing happens with linux.

I have tried two different modems, two different laptops and two different USB cables and two different OS`s and I seem to get the same thing happening to me.

Definitely seems like a hardware issue so i was wondering if anyone had come across this before.

Have you tried two different SIM cards from the same network or a SIM from another network?

Hi!I think im having similair problems which started yesterday.I plugged my E220 in as usual and my pc picked it up fine,i heard the tone u get wen plugging in sumthing, then after a few seconds it just dissapeared and i heard the same tone,as if i had unplugged it,so i left it a while and it picked it up again, and it just keeps doing that,so i tried with a different cable and it still did it,then i tried on another pc,and it still did it,then i decided to try with another sim,and it still did it.So i tried without any sim,and it worked,it never disconnected once. Please can sum1 help

If it had just been Windoze, I would suspect a conflict problem with a Windoze Update, but since you're seeing it happens in Linux as well, it might be firmware related - what firmware version is your E220 loaded with?
