How much is the E220 data card when paying cash? (I don't want any contracts)

Is the data card network locked?

Who sells them from MTN. I've tried a few places and had no luck. Are they missing an opportunity here.

I was told the only place you could buy the prepaid version of the E220 modem is from the MTN store at the Glen (that's where I got mine) and some other place in Rivonia.

And how much did you pay?

Any places in Cape Town sell them cheaper than Vodacom. They've stolen a march on MTN by having them in most big outlets. They also actually know about them, which is more than I can say about MTN.

Its a USB modem and second cheapest u gonna get 1 for is R2000+ brand new. Unless you get it on contract :D

*hint hint*
i have a R49.00 contract mycall 100 with my e620 and i couldnt be happier to pay R49.00 over the next 24 months.

The MTN outlets will not sell these on Prepaid. Vodacom sells them for R2350 (maybe lower elsewhere).

The MTN shop at East London told me two weeks back that I could get it for R 1499. Apparently it was a special offer fro MTN customers or something like that. I do not remember the details well.
