EA got sued for spore drm

Of course Sony is in more trouble than EA here. Securom is their product and they were found guilty of using a similar product on their audio cd's before.

That is why it is ok to download a free copy that does'nt have secure rom on it any more. Problem solved.

EA think they too clever and now have a bigger ego than anything else.
Support the games from companies who actually try to make games for the people. rather than EA who does'nt care and just wants money.

I feel sorry for the game companies who have to deal with them. Thank goodness diablo 3 wont be by EA.

I reckon its okay if you have a legal copy already and you don't want to mess about with authenticating and copy-protection and whatnot.

On the other hand - I can live without Spore - nothing forces me to support EA :D

I'll give this DRM a chance. Don't have much choice anyways since I bought Crysis Warhead. Plus I'm interested on seeing how exactly it's suppose to impact performance.

Btw if you download a "free copy" EA will contact your ISP and they'll lock your internet account so you'll loose all your precious bandwith. Happened to a few people in SA already. So A. You live with it and hope it improves or B you simply don't buy or play any of their games.

That EULA isworthless and wouln't stand up in a court of law.

Unless you agree to those before you buy the game which isn't the case its worthless. Since you can't retain a piece of software after opening up the packaging and you only find out about what's wrritten in the EULA its totally worthless.

The only time courts actually accept a EULA is if the specific sentence in there is part of state/country law. In this case its clearly not.
