EA pulls microtransactions from Battlefront 2

Read following posts.

Purchased now. Will be ready to play in 13 minutes.
Weak style none the less. They don't serve any support from anyone...first they try to scam people, then they get caught and their response is uh sorry we'll hold off for a bit and try again later?

They only holding off because people will be giving the game bad reviews coz of the micro transactions. Just look at what happened with Shadow of War.
Or it could have just been Disney saying, don't F*** with the Star Wars brand just before the next movie...

Has to be this. The game was under investigation by the Belgian Gambling Board

It's only been pulled temporarily. They're desperate for Christmas sales. Wait until early next year - I'm positive they'll bring it back in some way, shape or form.

Monie monie monie monie monie

Yes....its pulled for now. By the time its back i will be on another game.

You know its still a grindfest right? the difference is that now you can't use real money to skip the grind. You just have to grind.

what, the grind? I don't have a problem with the grind. I don't feel entitled and don't mind a challenge. I don't want the game to be over in a week.

Both that and the microtransactions.

Do you know it will take you 40 days to unlock Darth Vader? You are looking at something like a year of solid player to unlock all of the heroes in the game.

Is that level of grid acceptable to you?

didn't EA lower that? there was an article I read yesterday about that.

Ha ha ha you're in for a shock!

They lowered the cost while also lowering the rewards you get for playing. So it will take you the same amount of time to unlock the heroes, the difference now is that it will take you longer to earn the Star Cards that you will need to be competitive.

You bought this game with no research didn't you?

I buy lots of games with no research......some are a win, some are a bust.

and from what I am hearing from my friends that are playing, they are having a blast (no pun intended).

to each their own.

Nha - i would rather support those who make decent games.

EA will never see a cent from me.

It seems Disney is the good guy here. The were so worried about the backlash on the Star Wars IP they threatened to pull the exclusivity EA has on Star Wars.
According to a source that wishes to remain anonymous, Disney talked with top-level EA executives over the growing backlash (something that was corroborated by The Wall Street Journal who reported that Consumer Products and Interactive Media boss Jimmy Pitaro sent a message to EA about their concerns) regarding Star Wars Battlefront II’s bad press when it comes to loot crates, and how some see it as “gambling.”

Suckers all of you :D

They gonna put it back..... and you gonna like it :)

So this is a game you pay R500 odd to purchase and they designed it to make it neigh impossible for most average gamers to progress through unless they buy some kind of in-game token to get enough advantage to advance?

What an amazing business model if that's true and they can convince suckers to play?!

More like R900 for the standard version and around R1100 for the Deluxe Edition with the extra battle packs.

Not only is it still pay-to-win thanks to the incentives that the Deluxe Edition grants players, anyone who has a fully leveled up character thanks to putting $100 into their game can now enjoy more time dominating matches because other players will still be grinding for about ten hours to get tier-one characters. Loot box prices are still the same. It still takes around 20 hours to grind out one Epic Star card through crafting.

At least finishing the challenges now gives you enough credits for Luke or Vader. Pity that EA didn't put much stock into Iden Versio, because she's the cheapest character you can obtain by finishing the campaign.

That messes the game play when the douche with too much money can progress faster and dominate the hardcore gamer, that bs should be reserved for Candy crush..

Nevermind R1000 in and the house advantage is still skewed towards people who pay more rather than play more, that's defeating the object of gaming?

You can say what you want or think what you want, as long as people pay, it will be in the game.
