There is a Wug in East London already. It covers around 95% of East London, feel free to email wesley@walkertechnologies.co.za for more information. I know he has the best high site in town and basically manages the users.

What W1z4rd said.

WalkerTechnologies & TryIT had quite a bit of coverage in EL, but Wesley seems to be the only one still very active in it. He coverage even reached Gonubie.

Okay, then a wisp that behaves like a wug. Since any user can join the network and share files like other wugs at no charge.

Can any member go work on any of the wisp highsites, help install hardware, take ownership of the site, make improvements, link up other nodes, etc?

Or is it run by one individual that controls everything.

The spirit of a wug is not "to share files for free" but to build a network owned by the people connected to that network.

Well if its your hardware on the high site then yeah, but I dont imagine other people will like you on their roofs messing with their hardware. I guess thats where the East London one is different, since it does not have sponsored hardware its just a large wireless network for us EL people, but you are responsible for your own hardware as there have being no public donations.

The people do own the network, well the parts they paid for. The guy who "runs" the network has the highest high site in town by far, but the individual users own their own nodes.
