Easy Equities good or bad?

Satrix :

The Satrix Investment Plan has an annual platform fee starting at 0.6% per annum with a transaction charge of 0.08% each time you invest. SatrixNow has no annual platform fee, but charges 0.25% each time you invest as well as a 0.2% administration fee for a debit order.

EE :

On EasyEquities you pay zero platform fees, nada! You'll also typically pay a fee to transact (buy or sell shares) on the platform that you invest on. These are called brokerage fees and can range from around 0.5% to 4% of the value of your transaction. On EasyEquities, the brokerage you pay is 0.25%.

I have some funds in ETFs at Sanlam / Satrix. Could you let me know if you manage to move your ETFs to EE, I'd like to do the same.

Its straight forward. Contact EE for their transfer form, complete it, and they will switch the owner from Satrix to EE

And ps : EE and Satrix are not the same firm; just the same administrators.

I am moving my EFT's ... gatvol paying fees for NOTHING !

Can someone explain this tax and shares/dividends to me please.
Have you got a good accountant? But in short, you make money, SARS takes some of it. On dividends they take 20%, but this is withheld by the company paying the dividend. Profit on shares held for less than 3 years is usually considered income and tax as such. Profit on shares held longer are considered capital gains.

Income is equal to my Income tax.? What is CGT then?

Also Div rates stated on shares. Are they after tax deductions or do TAX deductions still have to be calculated?

thanks. got it. lots of reading and no Office installed on my Home/Gaming PC.
AH no problem, I highly recommend that you just keep decent records of everything dont try do everything last minute when tax season comes around.

I only Started investing In shares February. Dumped the TFSA capitec made a mess of and never made TFSA into Sygnia. Come march I dumped the R36000 in there as well. played around during lockdown with my last Paycheck. Not really much happening on the Tax side of investment...

the "tax side" is triggered every single time you sell an investment

Not true at all. I had a FNB TFSA (shares), and I moved it away recently from FNB

The steps was:
FNB forces you to sell the shares, but you cant still touch them, and they only move the capital.

This is TFSA related now

The best move I made in years was to dump R30000 of my TFSA cap for the year in shares in the second week of March. Its now 1000% up
