Easy Equities good or bad?

Wtf happened over the weekend... I ended friday with every single share in a plus.

Today.... Everything is down min 2% per share.

Good US jobs data, pushed US dollar to 11 year high.
Moving money away from 3rd worlds back into booming us economy

yes, eskom not helping ... hence the weak rand ... which is probably only the start, cause eskom problems not going away anytime soon. One way for the rand to strengthen would be if we were to get oil/gas locally and not have to import

Did you check?

Did you earn eBucks on the transaction?

it's a difficult one, i only managed to match my ebucks earn on fuel and airtime. other transactions (online etc) was a mess. February total earn was correct, but January total earn wasn't. I'm waiting for my pvt banker to assist. :/

Thanks, Neo_X.

It would be really interesting to know if we earn rewards on the credit card transaction. That would cover the EE credit card cost and probably the EE transaction cost too.

I earned "Online Shopping" eBucks for my EE credit card transaction. There is however a limit on the eBucks you can earn at your online shopping rate, thereafter it is earned at your normal swipe rate.

I received the following email from EE over the weekend:

"We are aware of the below, and will be correcting this error shortly.
In the interim if you have been charged STT incorrectly on the purchase of any ETF’s we will reverse the charges to you account."

I phoned Easy Equities (GT247.com) just now and the consultant confirmed that STT should not be charged on ETFs. They are aware of the fault in the system and it will be changed sometime soon. They will also refund the 0.25% incorrectly charged to all investors who have already bought ETFs.

Does anyone know if this refund actually happened?

I received the following response from the EE Brand Manager regarding the STT charges on ETFs:
"We will most certainly reverse all STT costs on ETFs in bulk as soon as we have rectified the issue on our system. This should hopefully be completed by the end of March."

I have the COMPLETE opposite experience.

My funs gets allocated 8am on the second day each time.

My emails gets answered within 3 hours each time.

They send a very detailed mail regarding the fees.

I have also had a good experience with their systems and support. Deposits using a credit card is available immediately and all my emails have been answered in one business day.

Signed up last night and I'm playing around with the demo money before investing real money :erm:

Any recommendations on which companies to invest in?

Is there a mobile app (Android) that can link to easy equities?

I heard African Bank is a good bet, low risk :p

Seriously though, if you are asking questions like that, go with an ETF like Satrix.

What would you want the mobile app to do? Their website isn't too bad for a mobile site.
